Death Of The Patriarchy; Rebirth Of The Earth part one
Written & Illustrated by Roslyne Sophia Breillat

The world is moving ever faster through the tumultuous breaking down of the patriarchy that currently "rules" our beloved Earth. But beloved by whom? And ruled by whom? And breaking down for how long? Through insidious corruption, unintelligent complications, dishonest promises, rampant greed and misuse of power, the gruesome death throes of this patriarchy do not paint a pretty scene. There are no subtle nuances, no reversible symptoms, no sweet or gentle reminders that we need to change our ways. This patriarchy is not just "out there". This patriarchy is not just inside "them". This patriarchy is everywhere, within and without, within you and me, a gaping wound seeping ever deeper into the glorious beauty of the Earth, a wound created by the forsaking of the sacred feminine. And this patriarchy must pay a price for disturbing our Earth's natural rhythms, for devastating our Earth's inherent ways. The destruction of this force-filled "civilisation" needs to be shocking and tumultuous, so as to bring about profound transformation and rebirth, for this deadening impact of patriarchal values, or lack of true value, must deeply penetrate the human psyche in order to bring about enduring change. For the patriarchal reign cannot survive without being in union with the sacred mystery of life and love within.

Where, when and how in your daily life are you giving to the distorted patriarchal actions that voraciously cast their pollution across our Earth Mother's belly and deep into her womb of life? And where, when and how are you giving to the ancient and timeless mystery of this dear Earth who gives so beneficently every day, every night, every moment? How often do you throw childish tantrums about who should or should not be Prime Minister or President? How many Facebook friends have you rejected because they did not vote as you did? How often do you pray for those in your own country who sleep in a cosy bed tonight while those in less fortunate countries are tortured, drowned or starved? How often do you decide who is worthy or not worthy of your blessings, your concern, your prayers?

How often do you breathe so freely and so deeply that your breath rises and falls in unison with the life-giving, power-giving breath of the Earth, with the Moon and the tides and the stars? How often do you make love so deeply that all else disappears but this love? Where is your gratitude? How often does the delicious sweetness this gratitude arise from deep within your body, deep within your soul? What do you give thanks for? How often do you fall to the Earth, in deep heart-opening reverence for all that she gives you, for all that she bestows, for all that you receive? How often are your dreams, your visions, your actions, your intentions, your plans, your prayers, your words arising from the still and silent depths of this inner mystery that births the fathomless wellspring of all life?

There is no stillness in the patriarchal world, no sacredness, no innocence, no love, no depth, no truth. There is no silence, no purity, no pause. For this ever-moving entity of discordant noise, dishonest proclamations, sexual deviation and greed-filled lust, is a twenty four hour shopping mall that can't be closed, an ugly machine that can't be switched off, a dark greedy shadow that seeks to devour all light. And from deep within the stillness, from deep within the silence that the patriarchy so cleverly suppresses, dishonours and ignores, Mother Earth's voice speaks. "Return to me", she softly sings, upon the gently dancing breeze. "Return to me", she loudly roars, from within the powerful waterfall. "Return to me", she wildly shrieks, from above the exploding of the bombs. "Return to me", she deeply weeps, from beneath the bodies piled upon on her dusty ground. "Return to me", she sweetly sings, from beneath the stinking heaps of rotting garbage. "Return to me", she joyously dances, when you tread her land beneath your feet. "Return to me", she peacefully whispers, when you are deeply sleeping. "Return to me", she silently calls, when you are making love. "Return to me, the sacred mystery of the Earth."
